Will my laptop be able to run RA3?

Hi, I'm a huge fan of the Red Alert series and I'm looking forward to buying RA3 in October. however, after reading the system requirements, I'm not sure if my laptop will be able to handle it.

My system specs are:
-Intel Celeron M processor 1.7 Ghz
-2GB of Ram
-35 gigs of free space
-Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset (Intel® GMA 950) Video Card w/ 128mb of video ram
-Sound card is Conexant HD Audio Output DirectX 9.0 compatible

According to the minimum requirements, the only problem that I'm worried about is my processor. How well would my laptop run the game, or would it even run Red Alert 3 at all? Thanks for your time everybody Cheers

-Isaac

RE: Will my laptop be able to run RA3?

Well,

I have played the beta on mine.

I am running the following.

Core 2 @ 2.2ghz
4GB Ram
Plenty of Disk
nVidia Geforce Go 8600m GT

And I can tell you that I could not go to highest settings and it also ran my laptop very hot. Which can be expected with a laptop.

Though, I have a feeling your video card may be more of a hinderence than your cpu.

But here is a great test. Since Ra3 is on nearly the same game engine as Tiberium Wars if you can get ahold of a copy try to run it. See what you get. If it runs okay then there is a good chance you will be able to play Ra3, just might have to be min gfx.

Hope it works for you.

Re:Nullivex

Thanks for the tip. I am currently downloading a CNC3 Tiberium Wars demo, hopefully it is the same as the actual game. I will test this as soon as it's done downloading.

RE: Will my laptop be able to run RA3?

I installed the Tiberium Wars Demo, and it seems to be working fine. I put all the settings to low, and it still looks pretty decent. The tutorial works flawlessly, but when i try to play the sample missions, the game closes crashes for an unknown error. I believe that is a problem within the demo itself.

If anybody else has any suggestions/insight on how well RA3 would run on my laptop, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey I was trying to get back you a little further on this.

Then I had some comp problems.

Anyways I just wanted to say that you should be fine. I believe anyways. I am unsure though if you may have had a lack of ram that caused that crash with missions.

Just make sure you have almost all applications shut down before running it.

Some people even do a seperate install of windows on another partition and just leave it very empty and use it solely for gaming.

Thanks,
Bryan
